Counseling

Jana L. Ekdahl, MA, LMHC

I offer a supportive and nurturing environment to provide the space for clients to rediscover the inter-connection of mind, body, and spirit. I believe that true empowerment comes from within. We sometimes put up blocks that prevent this energy from flowing freely through us. These obstacles may originate in childhood and continue to grow into a pattern of negative thinking. Unwinding the blocks that bind us leads to a  path of personal growth and self-realization. Emerging and evolving into your full potential - attaining what it is that you desire in life - is the ultimate therapeutic experience.
I embrace the philosophy of Carl Jung and Depth Psychology. The union of East and West is essential to my work, as I have studied to learn about the modalities
interwoven into the fabric of my psyche. I have access to this wisdom to share with my clients, either directly or otherwise. Arnold Mindell, PhD., brings Jungian Psychology and Shamanism together in a way that makes sense for me. I have had the opportunity to study with Mindell and others during his Process Work seminars and retreats. He considers therapists to be modern-day shamans. I agree.
